The 2016 Royal Rumble was a WWE-produced professional wrestling event broadcast on pay-per-view. It occurred on January 24, 2016, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. This marked the 29th installment in the Royal Rumble series and was WWE’s inaugural pay-per-view event of the year. It was the fifth time the Royal Rumble took place in Florida, following the events in 1990, 1991, 1995, and 2006. Additionally, it was the second time Orlando hosted the Royal Rumble since 1990 and the first pay-per-view event at the Amway Center since its opening in 2010.
