Based on Érico Verissimo’s literary trilogy, The Time and the Wind chronicles a century and a half of the Terra Cambará family’s saga and their rivalry with the Amaral family. The conflict between these two clans starts during the mission era and continues until the late 1800s. The film also depicts the establishment of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the territorial conflict between the Portuguese and Spanish empires.
