Sam and Silvy share a close friendship. One evening, while they are lying on their backs in a lake, gazing at a shooting star, Silvy vanishes. Sam searches desperately for her beneath the water but to no avail. Years pass, and Sam, now working as a psychologist, comes back to his hometown to attend his father’s funeral. There, he encounters a woman named Ruby, who bears a striking resemblance to Silvy in numerous ways.
