In Milan, an exceptional soup kitchen known as the Refettorio Ambrosiano is operated by the world-famous chef Massimo Bottura, alongside 40 top chefs such as Ferran Adria, Rene Redzepi, Alain Ducasse, and Daniel Humm. The meals provided were crafted from the food surplus of Expo Milano 2015. The film also shares the poignant narratives of some of the refugees and homeless individuals who were served at the Refettorio.
