Freelance journalist Jennifer, along with her friends Karen and Vicki, takes up an offer for affordable lodging at a spacious farmhouse from a seemingly amiable yet dubious museum proprietor named Ernest Keller. This arrangement comes about because all local accommodations are fully booked due to a holiday parade that Jennifer is reporting on. However, unbeknownst to the women, a mysterious “entity” has been residing in the basement for over two decades, under the care of Keller and his reserved sister Virginia. This “entity” eventually escapes and starts terrorizing and murdering the women one by one through various brutal, yet apparently accidental, methods.
