On Christmas Eve, the Silberhaus siblings are eagerly anticipating the start of the holiday celebrations. While Marie and Fritz are playing in their room, their godfather, Drosselmayer, arrives with an early Christmas present: a Nutcracker. Marie soon finds herself witnessing an epic battle, as a large army of toy soldiers, led by the Nutcracker, clashes with a fearsome group of mice under the command of the Mouse King.
