Veteran opera performer Joachim Dallayrac steps away from the limelight and moves to the countryside to mentor two aspiring singers, Sophie and Jean. Despite the demanding nature of their training, the trio finds ample opportunity to form close bonds. Thanks to their mentor’s esteemed reputation, Sophie and Jean receive an invitation to compete in a singing contest organized by Prince Scotti. Scotti’s protégé is determined to avenge Scotti’s past loss to Dallayrac in a similar event years earlier.
