This film is a wild mix that combines elements of 1950s rebellious youth, sci-fi drama, musical performances, and a hint of horror, all perfectly balanced to deliver an entertaining cinematic experience. The intriguing and amusing narrative follows Jonathan Xavier and his loyal group of outcasts, who have been banished to Earth from the distant corners of the universe. Johnny’s ex-girlfriend, Bliss, has abandoned him and taken his Resurrection Suit, a cosmic, mind-altering outfit that grants its wearer control over others. The film features several elaborately choreographed musical scenes, plenty of genuinely funny dialogue, and a couple of unexpected plot twists, all beautifully shot on the last of Kodak’s black-and-white Plus-X film stock.
