Five years have passed since Laura and Carmilla thwarted the apocalypse, with Carmilla transforming into a genuine human. Now, they reside in a comfortable apartment in downtown Toronto, where Laura is refining her journalism abilities and Carmilla is adapting to life without her vampire traits. Their peaceful domestic life is abruptly disrupted when Carmilla starts exhibiting signs of reverting to her vampire ways—such as craving bloody snacks and unintentionally biting—while Laura experiences strange, spectral dreams. The duo must reunite with their former allies from Silas University to identify the mysterious supernatural menace and protect humanity, including Carmilla herself.
