Henry Howard, a driven young scientist, is on a quest to create a serum that enhances muscle growth and extends lifespan. His superior, the irritable General Darwin, refuses to let Henry wed his daughter, Hannah, until the project succeeds. Defying Darwin, Henry proposes to Hannah, but his plans are derailed when a thief steals his engagement ring. In despair, Henry uses the experimental serum on himself, transforming into the formidable Amazing Bulk. The Bulk wreaks havoc across the city, leaving destruction in his wake. Henry is eventually apprehended by a determined detective, imprisoned by Darwin, and compelled to confront the cruel Dr. Kantlove, who threatens to obliterate the moon with his stockpile of weapons.
