Marco, a 12-year-old boy, is glued to his iPad and rarely ventures outdoors. However, his world is shaken when his grandmother passes away and his grandfather comes to live with him, compelling Marco to spend time outside. His “Nonno” (Grandpa) introduces him to the game of bocce ball and the group of elderly Italian men who gather daily at the local court. Through the sport, along with shared laughter and affection, Marco discovers a sense of community and assembles a group of local kids to challenge his grandfather and his friends.
