When Reggie is left to fend for himself on the harsh city streets by his irresponsible owner, Doug, he initially believes that Doug would never intentionally abandon him. However, after teaming up with Bug, a street-smart, outspoken stray who cherishes his independence and thinks owners are a waste of time, Reggie comes to understand that he was trapped in a harmful relationship and starts to recognize Doug as the unfeeling scoundrel he truly is.
