Haskell, portrayed by Michael Caine, receives a task from his employer, the noble Landon-Higgins, played by James Fox. His mission is to intercept a heavily guarded van during a period when it is out of communication with its main security company. To execute this daring daylight robbery, Haskell gathers a crew, but the operation quickly goes awry, leading him to suspect that Landon-Higgins might be betraying him. Complicating matters further, a student from a nearby boarding school has already observed some of the team’s gatherings, putting Haskell in a precarious situation.
