The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a U.S. TV series that was broadcast on ABC from March 4, 1992, to July 24, 1993. The filming occurred in various spots around Wilmington, North Carolina, including the UNCW campus. This series was a collaborative effort between Amblin Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and Paramount Network Television.

The show delves into the early life and adolescence of the fictional character Indiana Jones, featuring Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier in the lead role, while George Hall portrayed an older version of Jones in most episodes’ introductions and conclusions. Notably, Harrison Ford appeared in the bookends of one episode. The series was the brainchild of George Lucas, who also served as its executive producer, mirroring his role in the creation and production of the Indiana Jones movies.

Despite its high production costs, the series was discontinued in 1993. Nevertheless, after its cancellation, four TV movies were made between 1994 and 1996 to try to extend the series’ storyline. In 1999, the series was restructured into 22 TV films, collectively titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
