The Fairly OddParents is an American animated TV show crafted by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The storyline follows a 10-year-old boy named Timmy Turner, who is blessed with two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. Initially, the show began as a series of cartoon shorts that aired from September 4, 1998, to March 23, 2001, on Oh Yeah! Cartoons before being developed into a full series. Produced by Frederator Studios and, starting from the sixth season, by Billionfold, Inc., the show was distributed internationally by the Canadian company Nelvana International for its first four seasons.
Having been on air for over 16 years, The Fairly OddParents holds the record as the longest-running fantasy TV series in American television history and is Nickelodeon’s second longest-running animated series, surpassed only by SpongeBob SquarePants.
