In 1956, a collection of British individuals departs from the gloomy, post-war environment of Britain to undertake a transformative journey to the opposite side of the globe. For just ten pounds, they are lured by the promise of an improved lifestyle by the ocean in the sun-drenched land of Australia. However, the reality of life there is far from perfect. As they grapple with their new status as immigrants, we witness their successes and challenges as they adjust to living in a foreign land, far removed from the comforts and familiarity of Britain.
