Spellbinder is a fantasy and science fiction television series aimed at teenagers, created through a collaboration between Film Australia and Telewizja Polska, with support from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.

This 1995 series consists of 26 episodes and was a joint production between Australia and Poland. The creators, Mark Shirrefs and John Thomson, also adapted it into a novel.

Filming took place in Australia, representing the “modern” world, and in Poland, where scenes set in the parallel universe were captured.

The series was succeeded by Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord, featuring Heather Mitchell returning as Ashka.
