The show is filmed with a live studio audience and each episode focuses on an in-depth interview with a single celebrity guest. Currently, the episodes are recorded at The London Studios, though in the past, they were filmed at Teddington Studios and the BBC Television Centre. The episodes are typically taped one to two weeks prior to their television broadcast. Since 2011, Morgan has pre-recorded all episodes before the series begins, due to his filming obligations with CNN in the United States.
