
Nonni und Manni
“Nonni and Manni” is a children’s TV series created through a collaboration between Iceland and West Germany. It premiered on December 26, 1988, on the ZDF channel in West Germany and consisted of six episodes, concluding on January 1, 1989.
The series is adapted from the book of the same name by Jón Sveinsson, a well-known Icelandic author of children’s literature. Sveinsson, affectionately called “Nonni,” drew inspiration from his childhood experiences with his brother Ármann, or “Manni,” for his writings. The series was filmed across locations in Iceland, West Germany, and Norway.
