“China, IL,” short for “China, Illinois,” is an animated series broadcast on Adult Swim. Created by Brad Neely, the show incorporates characters from Neely’s previous web series and specials, including Frank and Steve Smith, known as “The Professor Brothers,” and Mark “Baby” Cakes. Neely himself voices all three characters. The series is produced by Williams Street and animated by Titmouse, Inc. It has been renewed for a second season, with plans to extend each episode to a half-hour format.

On May 25, 2008, Adult Swim aired an 11-minute special titled “The Funeral,” which was initially available on the now-closed Super Deluxe website. This special merged Neely’s “Professor Brothers” and “Baby Cakes” web series, creating a broader setting for the characters. Both the special and Neely’s other works are accessible on his YouTube channel.
