“Brass Eye” is a British television series that parodies news magazine shows. It originally aired on Channel 4 with six episodes in 1997, followed by an additional episode in 2001. The series was the brainchild of Chris Morris, who collaborated with writers David Quantick, Peter Baynham, Jane Bussmann, Arthur Mathews, and Graham Linehan. Directed by Michael Cumming, “Brass Eye” serves as a follow-up to Morris’s earlier satirical news programs, “On the Hour” and “The Day Today.” The show critiques how the media sensationalizes social issues and incites moral panics. The cast includes Doon MacKichan, a colleague from “The Day Today,” along with Gina McKee, Mark Heap, Simon Pegg, Julia Davis, and Kevin Eldon.
