“Passed the Door of Darkness” opens with a harrowing scene: two young children are discovered lifeless, floating in their home’s bathtub. Nearby, their mother lies dead, a gunshot wound to the back of her head, surrounded by her own blood. Her husband is found slumped against a wall stained with blood, having taken his own life with a gunshot to the head. For Chris Malloy, a rookie detective on the homicide team, this gruesome discovery is far beyond what he anticipated during his initial week on the night shift. Meanwhile, his seasoned partner, the world-weary yet eloquent Detective Murphy MacCasey, views this as just another sorrowful case in his fifteen-year career in homicide. However, the worst is yet to come for both detectives.
