After her daughter Lacey departs for a top-tier university, Carol faces an empty home and opts to lease out her daughter’s room. Nikki, a student from a nearby college, responds to the advertisement, and it seems like an ideal arrangement. However, Carol is unaware that Nikki was once Lacey’s competitor in high school and harbors resentment, believing Carol manipulated circumstances to secure Lacey’s spot at a superior institution.
