On September 4, 1984, Kim Jong Tae (played by Park Won Sang), a prominent figure in the democracy movement, is apprehended and brought to a notorious interrogation center in Namyeong-dong. Over the following 22 days, he endures relentless and brutal torture at the hands of interrogators determined to extract a confession of communist ties from him.
