In her quest to locate her father in Surinam, Grace finds herself resorting to extreme actions. As the sole black child in an otherwise white family, she is eager to learn about her Surinamese heritage. Her grandfather holds the key to her past, but his memory has been fading since his wife’s passing. When the family opts to place him in a retirement facility, Grace and her grandfather hatch a plan to use his savings for a trip to Surinam.
