In an unexplored segment of the Mass Effect narrative, we follow the early journey of Alliance Marine James Vega. Tasked with leading a team of elite special forces, Vega faces a formidable alien menace known as The Collectors. Positioned at a colony in a distant star system, Vega and his squad are charged with defending the settlers from an onslaught of lethal insect-like invaders intent on capturing the population for mysterious reasons. When Vega’s superior officer is killed in action, the young marine is thrust into a leadership role, crucial for the colony’s survival. Having always admired Commander Shepard, Earth’s legendary hero from the Mass Effect video games, the idealistic Vega is now confronted with making critical decisions that will impact not only his squad but also every resident of the colony, all of whom he has vowed to protect.
