In 1969, a geologist from Newfoundland, Canada, stirs up controversy in a quaint Irish village by falling for a local woman who is committed to becoming a nun. “Love and Savagery” explores themes of passion, destiny, and their repercussions. The film follows Michael McCarthy (played by Allan Hawco), a Canadian geologist and poet, as he visits Ballyvaughan, Ireland, to study the geological marvel known as the “Burren.” There, he encounters Cathleen (portrayed by Sarah Greene), a captivating woman who wins his affection. However, due to her early life decision to pursue a religious path, she cannot reciprocate his feelings.
