In the suburbs of Austin, young Annie, a 10-year-old, races around on her BMX bike, throws dough at passing cars, and uses her baseball bat to break things. Her father, who juggles goat farming with participating in demolition derbies, is not very involved in her upbringing. With no peers to play with, Annie spends her days engaging in solo mischief. While exploring the forest one day, she hears a woman’s desperate cries for help coming from an old, unused well. Although Annie feels compelled to return to the well each day, she is uncertain about how to address the woman’s predicament.
