Wyatt, a jaded narcoleptic residing in a rundown apartment, aspires to become a journalist. His ambitions are nearly thwarted when he encounters a mysterious young woman named Fern, who resides in an ’88 Toyota Tercel hatchback on his street. Fern’s father disappeared and was presumed dead during her childhood in Montana. After receiving an enigmatic letter from a stranger called Dr. Green, claiming her father is alive and residing in LA, she decides to search for him herself. Together, Wyatt and Fern embark on a quest to locate her elusive father amidst the city’s neglected areas, while their relationship begins to evolve beyond mere friendship.
