In 1992 Hong Kong, Ty is set up by his friend J.J. for a murder and cocaine heist. Suspecting his wife Rachel might be involved in the scheme, Ty doesn’t seek her out after he’s released early from prison, thanks to the new Mainland government’s goodwill. However, Rachel tracks him down in Southern California to warn him that J.J. is out to kill him. She advises Ty to eliminate J.J. first, prompting him to travel to Manila, where J.J. operates a profitable business disguised as a tropical fish export company. But what is the true nature of this business, and who is really in control? With assistance from Inez, a young Filipina sex worker, Ty delves into the mystery, even as Inez loses her resolve to continue the pursuit of justice.
