In 1992 Hong Kong, Ty is set up by his friend J.J. for a murder and cocaine theft. Suspecting his wife Rachel might be involved in the scheme, Ty avoids her after being released early from prison by the new Mainland government. However, Rachel tracks him down in Southern California to warn him that J.J. wants him dead. She advises Ty to eliminate J.J. first, prompting him to travel to Manila where J.J. operates a profitable business disguised as a tropical fish export company. Ty, with the assistance of Inez, a young Filipina prostitute, delves into the true nature of J.J.’s operations, even as Inez loses the will to continue the pursuit.
