Rod and Katherine Wright are supposedly enjoying their retirement in Florida, though in reality, Rod is restless with nothing to occupy his time, and Katherine longs for her children back home, especially as Christmas nears. Fortunately, they’ve befriended their neighbor Lisa, who shares their love for golden retrievers. Their dog, Jake, now has three new puppy companions: Mario, Luigi, and Pasquale. However, during a walk with Lisa, the dogs run off and disrupt a wedding proposal, revealing the proposer to be David, Lisa’s childhood friend who became her boyfriend and then ex. It’s clear to everyone except David and Lisa that they belong together. With David’s wedding on the horizon, they must decide whether to rekindle their romance or leave it behind.
