In this comedic tale, an American woman overseas becomes entangled with a quirky band of expatriates in Spain. Cassandra, portrayed by Judy Davis, is a wandering American who ends up stuck in Spain, where she takes on a temporary job translating books into English. Unfortunately, her modest translating abilities aren’t enough to make ends meet. So, when she meets an odd woman named Frankie, played by Marcia Gay Harden, Cassandra agrees to assist her in locating a missing friend, provided there’s a financial reward involved.
