In 1980s Staten Island, a curious young girl named Rose Larusso learns that her father is becoming a prominent figure in the mafia. As Rose increasingly yearns to escape the life laid out for her, she finds herself in danger and at odds with her closest family members: her mother Francine, her sister Connie, and her aunt Christine.
