Waverly believed she had her life all planned out, with a medical residency in Toronto lined up following a summer trip to see her parents in Taipei. However, when her plans take an unexpected turn, she spontaneously decides to visit a quaint Canadian town. There, she encounters Blake, a local lifeguard. After he rescues her from a near-drowning incident at a beach party, Blake proposes to give Waverly swimming lessons.
