“Doc Martin” explores the story of Martin Clunes’ character in the period leading up to the events of “Saving Grace.” Martin Bamford, a heartbroken obstetrician from London, is consumed by jealousy after discovering his wife’s infidelity with three of his friends. Seeking solace, he retreats to a quaint fishing village in Cornwall, where he unexpectedly forms a deep attachment and becomes hesitant to leave when his unfaithful wife arrives to take him back. Initially intending to spend just a week relaxing, Dr. Bamford uncovers a web of secrets in the village of Port Isaac and finds himself caught up in the most thrilling scandal the village has experienced in generations.
