Shot in 1993 but left unfinished due to the untimely passing of River Phoenix, “Dark Blood” revolves around Boy, a young widower residing on a deserted nuclear test site. Anticipating an impending apocalypse, Boy spends his days crafting Katchina dolls, believed to possess mystical abilities. His isolation is disrupted when a glamorous Hollywood couple, journeying through the desert, find themselves stranded after their vehicle fails. Boy comes to their aid but subsequently detains them, driven by his attraction to the woman and his vision of building a new world with her.
