When a lesser-known attorney is found dead at the border of two counties, Sheriff Alden Rockwell of Maksville County is forced to team up with Jo Porter, the newly appointed Sheriff from the adjacent York County. Her modern, urban approach conflicts with his traditional style, but as the killer continues to claim more victims, they must put their differences aside and collaborate to catch the perpetrator.
