In the summer of 2015, iconic musician David Byrne organized a unique event at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center to honor the art of Color Guard, which features synchronized dance routines with flags, rifles, and sabers. He enlisted artists such as Saint Vincent, Nelly Furtado, Ad-Rock, and Ira Glass to work alongside 10 color guard teams from the United States and Canada, creating original performances. “Contemporary Color” is a stunningly captured glimpse of this extraordinary live spectacle.
