Barry, a man down on his luck, lands a position in the shipping department at Technoworks, a cutting-edge company catering to young professionals. He’s invited by his boss, Quinn, to a weekend barbecue at Quinn’s home, attended by some of his boss’s acquaintances. The gathering takes a bizarre turn when Barry ends up performing a twisted version of charades on a picnic table, and a neighbor begins hurling racial insults over the fence. The arrival of Jude, the widow of Technoworks’ former owner, adds complexity to the situation. As secrets of past misdeeds come to light, the true purpose of the gathering is unveiled. However, not before Barry gets into a brawl with a tow-truck driver, has an affair with his boss’s wife, and causes chaos with the neighbor. By the end of the day, as the title implies, the identity of the Felon is revealed, or perhaps it becomes clear that everyone at the party is, in some way, a Felon.
