The first Cylon conflict has been ongoing for a decade when young Ensign William Adama enlists in the fleet. He feels let down when he’s assigned to a freighter instead of a fighter jet, and his co-pilot is not thrilled about having a novice on board, especially since he’s close to returning to civilian life. Their assignment is to transport Dr. Becca Kelly, a civilian scientist, but shortly after departure, she redirects them with new orders and a different destination.
