Karl Westover, a naive young farmer, flees after accidentally causing the death of a neighbor, prompting the neighbor’s family to seek revenge. During his escape, he encounters Barbarosa, a legendary gunslinger who is also being hunted by his father-in-law, Don Braulio, a rich Mexican ranch owner. Don Braulio seeks Barbarosa’s death for marrying his daughter without his consent. Despite his reluctance, Barbarosa teams up with the awkward Karl, as they both strive to evade the threats closing in on them.
