Once a tough guy, Frank Barron is now a shadow of his former self due to Alzheimer’s. When his long-estranged son, Jamie, comes to see him in the hospital, he notices the additional strain Frank is enduring. Determined to help, Jamie decides to take Frank out of the hospital, aiming to reunite him with their family. As they journey across the nation, they start to reconnect, but it becomes clear that both are grappling with unresolved issues from their pasts.
