In a secluded area of the Grand Canyon, an asteroid shower deposits enigmatic pods. At the same time, scientists aboard a space station, also struck by the asteroid shower, find that one of the pods has transformed into a creature that endangers the vessel. Both the scientists and a team on Earth must figure out how to overcome this extraterrestrial threat, using the same elements against it.
