Two strong yet deeply troubled women, both escaping political and personal turmoil, are on the run from their haunting pasts. Tess, the daughter of a slain Black Panther activist, lives a secluded life on a vineyard in Sonoma, avoiding all forms of connection. Her solitary existence is disrupted when she reluctantly takes in Anna, a young woman who has attempted suicide in a nearby forest. Despite their differences, the two form an unexpected bond where others have failed—neither Anna’s husband, David, nor Tess’ boss, John, can penetrate their defenses.
