“ChickLit” is a comedic drama centered around four men who are determined to prevent their neighborhood pub from shutting down. To raise funds, they collaboratively pen a chick lit novel, specifically a ‘mummy porn’ book akin to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ which quickly garners interest from a publisher. However, there’s a catch: the publisher demands that the supposed female author participate in promotional activities. To maintain their anonymity, the men hire an unemployed actress to impersonate the author. As events unfold, she lands the lead role in the film adaptation of the book, reversing the power dynamic and leaving the men with the daunting task of secretly producing erotic novels indefinitely.
