Joseph Watkins, a deceitful opportunist, stages a play in a theater with a history of murder to win over Virginia, an actress about to leave the city. As he dodges two detectives and worries his stage manager, Joseph becomes fixated on the theater’s ghostly presence and starts eliminating anyone who obstructs his path.
