A father who has recently lost his wife decides to leave his position as a well-known columnist for a leading Sydney newspaper. On a whim, he purchases a house online in a secluded coastal town in New Zealand. He must then inform his two teenage children, who are already grappling with the loss of their mother, that they are about to face another major change. However, the vibrant and curious townspeople make sure that his vision of starting anew doesn’t unfold as expected.
