Filmed in the central Otago areas of Omakau, Ophir, and Alexandra, this coming-of-age story follows 12-year-old Billy, who struggles with being overweight and has little interest in farming or Rugby. Instead, he finds solace in the imaginary world of the TV series “Adventures in Space,” where he fantasizes about taking on the role of the heroine, Lana. This passion doesn’t exactly win him popularity among his peers, but his tomboy cousin Lou helps shield him from these social challenges. The arrival of two new boys, Roy and Jamie, sets the stage for transformative changes in Billy’s life.
